Roots and Feathers

“Roots and Feathers” is a book that encompasses a collection of feathery and leafy creations gathered in my sketchbooks in the last couple of years. They are accompanied by a handful of short stories from my childhood years.

I have always been enchanted by Nature and the outdoors. As a child I spent a vast amount of time outside, talking to trees and chasing butterflies. Birds have always been an interest but I remember I used to be scared and suspicious of owls! I came to love them in recent years but I believe my initial mistrust came from owls being creatures of the night. I am deeply fond of them and I think they are magnificent creatures! Owls, trees and all sorts of mischievous creatures are to be found in this book.

The book has 144 pages and a delicate wood-texture hardcover.
Size of the book is A5 ( 15 x 21,5 cm )
The majority of the images were created using traditional materials like ink, watercolors, gouache, graphite, although some of them have been designed using digital painting software.

It has been an interesting journey to brew this book and it might not be the last one.
Who knows what fantastical creatures will crawl up my pages and do some mischief but I will surely keep an eye on them!
